Over the millennia, almost every Kung Fu style has incorporated versions of these exercises as part of their foundation training, altering the set to emphasise the characteristics of their style.

Benefits
From a TCM perspective, the primary function of Baduan Jin Qigong is to help regulate internal organs and to balance yin and yang. energy of the twelve major organ meridians, and the eight collateral channels.
From a western perspective, it can help, correct posture, and provides a gentle yet effective daily work out for the whole body, whilst being relaxing and calming to perform.
A regular daily practice of this set can improve stamina, breathing, and mobility of the joints, as well as boosting mood and easing pain.
